Fashion ‘16

Drexel University hosts an annual Fashion Show to showcase their students' work at the Urban Outfitters Headquarters on the Philadelphia Navy Yard. This is the identity of the 2016 Fashion Show. Responsibilities covered creating an initial mark as well as a branding system, including invitations, t shirts and posters for the show. The concept was based on one of the sketches done by a professor in the Fashion Department, and it utilizes different fabric and textural elements to enhance the design. A shattered typeface was created based on the typeface Didot, and used Gotham Bold and Futura as secondary faces. The motif of these patterns was continued in the background of several pieces of the system. The invitation utilized a vertical format to highlight the elongated and elegant nature of the mark itself. The figure is meant to represent the work of the designers on display during the show and the direction fashion is moving in.
