Penn Transplant Strategic Plan
Designed for The Penn Transplant Institute (PTI) and their vision for the 5 year strategic plan. This 8.5” x 11” book speaks to the goals, mission and vision of the team at the PTI. The design utilizes white space as its main component and brings in angles to move the eye easily across the spreads. The content highlights the 4 main goals for the PTI, incorporating infographics and icons to help communicate the longevity and accomplishments of the Institute. The photography is mostly original, and uses real transplant patient photos to tell the story of hope and a bright outcome for anyone going through the transplant process.
Penn Transplant Hallway Mural
This hallway mural was designed as an extension of the 5 year strategic plan, and carries the look through to the physical Transplant Institute itself. Located in the Ravdin 2 section of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP), the concept for the hallway mural is a patient’s personal journey through the Transplant Institute. To prep for the mural installation, I chose a new paint color for the hallway and a dark wood stain for the doors and hand rails, to make the hallway seem more modern and fresh.
The longest side of the mural measures 122 feet long, and represents the clinical care and patient’s progression throughout their journey and the process of receiving their transplant. This side also thanks the donors of the organs; without them, none of these advances would be possible. The opposite side, measuring 108 feet long, represents the patient’s outcome and the potential to lead a full and happy life after transplant. Several of the photos used in the mural are real Penn Transplant patients. The overall look and feel is airy and uplifting, meant to inspire the patients and their families as they walk the hallways of the Transplant Institute.
