Sharing Love
Client: Sharing Excess & Sunday Love Project
Category: Branding
Sharing Love is a collaboration between two Philly-based non profits: Sharing Excess and Sunday Love Project. Together they turn generous food donations into meals made with love, happily served in an environment that is warm and welcoming to all.
I had worked with the folks from Sunday Love Project in the past, and offered my services to them if needed during the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic. I had the opportunity to work with the Sharing Love team to develop a dynamic brand identity to showcase the heart and soul they pour into feeding the people of Philadelphia.
Concept & Branding:
Much like the history of these two non profits, the brand of Sharing Love tells a story. Two non profits coming together to make something amazing happen for the Philadelphia community. The branding visually communicates our story and history by combining the two existing logos of Sharing Excess and Sunday Love Project into one, and expanding the identity further to reach the Philadelphia community. I used the combined color palette to reference the original two logos, and expanded upon it to develop the identity.
Gathering Inspiration:
I worked with the two existing companies to gather reference imagery and nail down the feeling they were attempting to capture with the new branding. This inspiration board was used as a guide throughout the process.
Sketching and Development:
Logo Exploration:
Official Logo that combines the identities of Sharing Excess and Sunday Love Project into one cohesive mark to represent Sharing Love. This logo was designed last to unite the new brand design with the pre-existing identities of the other two.
Part of the original branding concept, this logo was developed for all merchandise through Sharing Love, specifically the T-shirts for our volunteers.
Badge logo developed to expand on the branding and do the heavy lifting for all social media platforms as well as labels that are adhered to each of our meals and grocery boxes.
Final Branding Style Guide:
Collateral Extension:
Window Signage:
Counter Culture was generous enough to donate a temporary space and give us free reign to put up vinyl window signage. Without their generosity, this would not have been possible. The window design displays Sharing Love’s message and history, as well as utilizes hearts that are spaced 6 feet apart along the bottom of the window to keep folks appropriately spaced as they are waiting in line to pick up their meals and grocery boxes. This signage was temporary, but it was a wonderful addition to South Street and really drew attention to the space. I worked with Jared Therrien of Emergency Information Systems, LLC to print and install the white vinyl on the interior of the windows.
Website Design:
Website designed for Sharing Love to help spread the word and raise awareness for their cause. The website allows people to reserve hot meals and grocery boxes, sign up to volunteer with Sharing Love, donate to the cause, and much more. The live website can be found here: Sharing-Love.com.
The Space in Action
Counter Culture allowed Sharing Love to serve hot meals and grocery boxes on Wednesdays and Saturdays from the space on South Street. The effort was wildly successful and fed hundreds of people per day.
